Tall Handmade Wabi Sabi Vase

Service Description

Wabi Sabi means to appreciate beauty in imperfection. In this workshop we will cover a variety of hand building techniques to create a tall vase, vessel or abstract sculpture. The images (found on the web) have been used to promote this workshop and as inspiration to get you started. Your tutor will provide you with a lot more ideas. Using a groggy sculptural clay, you will hand build a tall vase or abstract form to a maximum height of 55 cm. Clay and tools are provided, and your piece will be twice fired. You will get the opportunity to come back after the first firing (bisque) to apply oxides, engobes and/or a clear glaze. Beginners welcome. Please read T's & C's before booking.
