Pit Firing in DONDINGALONG

Service Description

This is a continuation after the first session held Saturday, 6 December. If you are interested to see the pit firing process, please book yourself in and I will contact you to confirm the day we will be holding the actual pit firing. The date advertised - Saturday, 17 January - is dependent on the weather and obtaining permission to light the pit. There is no charge to come and watch. Participants who came to the first session have 4 weeks to deliver their pottery back to Pipers Creek Pottery for a low bisque firing. We will all get together again on a Saturday or Sunday for the pit firing some time mid to late January. Loading the pit involves adding sawdust, chemicals, bisque fired pots then wood. This will take about an hour. The pit is lit and will burn for around 24 hours then it will be unloaded the following weekend.
